Globally Local – Subcontracting Fair celebrates its 35th anniversary in September

22.06.2023

Subcontracting Fair, Alihankinta, the leading industry event in Finland and second largest subcontracting industry trade fair in Europe, will be organised at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on 26–28 September 2023, at Tampere, Finland. The theme for the 35-year event is Globally Local and the event partner for Subcontracting 2023 is Patria. Free of charge registration is now open for visitors. The exhibitor stands for Subcontracting have been sold out.

This year’s theme for the annual industry festival will be comprehensive and topical: Globally Local – intertwining the world of industries, from local production to international collaboration.

– A forward-looking industry is experienced and created at Subcontracting. A partner company with an exceptionally Globally Local position has been confirmed for the event. We are proud and excited to be partnering this year with the international top professionals of Patria. The smooth functioning of subcontracting chains is key to their operations as well, and with their cutting-edge technology expertise they embody the very meaning of Globally Local, rejoices Project Manager Sami Siurola of Tampere Trade Fairs Group.

The 35-year-old Subcontracting celebrates with a forward-looking approach

In September, Subcontracting Trade Fair also celebrates its meaningful 35-year history. With a long experience of bringing forth the industries at Tampere, the event has continually reformed itself and keeps looking forward upon its anniversary. A new feature in the event will be the GLO Village in Hall B for encounters between international businesses and local undertakings. Ever since the summer, Subcontracting has shared stories by the members of the events Hall of Fame, companies that have been participating from the beginning, since 1988. In August–September, Subcontracting x Industry Stories will be going viral on social media, where the sector’s operators share their best memories and thoughts for the upcoming number-one industry event.

Top experts in the sector will once again receive recognition during the event. Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY ry will reward the Main Contractor and Subcontractor of the Year. The national award Industrial Act of the Year will showcase the importance and acknowledgement of industry. Business Tampere will give out the award at Subcontracting Trade Fair.

Tampere Industrial Week, created by the Subcontracting Trade Fair, will close with the same event as last year: Big Machines at Central Square (Isot Koneet Keskustorilla), organised by the City of Tampere and industrial operators in collaboration at Tampere Central Square on Saturday, 30 September.

The theme focuses on local expertise and international production

Local expertise and international domestic production have a well-appreciated key role in global trade as well. The relocation of production back to Finland is a solid trend arising from the perspectives of quality, availability, cost-effectiveness, product development, workforce, accountability, and the continuity of production. Global industry brings operators together, irrespective of location and across sector boundaries. Global connections and well-functioning logistics offer opportunities for an increasingly versatile collaboration and intertwine subcontracting chains. During exceptional circumstances, security of supply is a topical issue. Industrial automation and robotics will continue to increase, and AI has a role as an assistant and a developer. The human’s role, even if it is reforming, is still seen as the primary one, also emphasising social responsibility. Industry brings people and technologies together, creating a future.

The exhibitor stands have been sold out for the most awaited industrial event of the year. Admission is now open and free of charge for all registered visitors alihankinta.fi/en/fair-info/admission/.
